I do happen to know(it was impossible to avoid at the time of HLA's release) it has something to do with the villain or whatever, so maybe I'm already spoiled to an extent. So, the question is: Would you guys recommend playing HLA before everything else? I read it has spoilers for HL2, but I'm not sure if that extends beyond the opening text which I could just avoid reading? I also read HLA's ending is the continuation of HL2, but idk if that spoils things too much either. (I also have Black Mesa which I plan to play at some point as well.)

I've seen a lot of people recommend playing HL2 + episodes before playing HLA, but knowing the mod is >(somewhat) around the corner, I will not be playing HL2 without the mod either. But, I don't really want to wait for that to come out to play HLA to be honest, as it might very well be ways off still, and I am very eager to play Alyx. I know there is an upcoming HL2 VR mod, so I'll definitely be playing that.

The thing is, I am a bit unsure how to go about getting into the HL series, as I've never played any of the games before. I got into VR recently, and I've purchased HLA in the summer sale.
